Samsung is preparing to launch its next major software update, One UI 8 is based on Android 16. As of May 28, 2025 and the beta program is expected to commence soon with the stable release projected for July or August 2025.

What is New in One UI 8?

1. Running Coach

One UI 8 introduces a new Running Coach feature, likely integrated into the Samsung Health app. This tool analyzes data from your smartphone or smartwatch to assess your running level and offers tailored training suggestions to enhance performance while minimizing injury risks.

2. Audio Brief

Building upon the Now Brief feature from One UI 7 the Audio Brief provides personalized daily summaries in audio format is offering users a hands free way to receive updates.

3. Redesigned Weather App with Animated Avatars

The weather app is expected to receive a visual overhaul, featuring animated 3D avatars that respond to weather conditions by enhancing user interaction and experience.

4. Enhanced Bluetooth Device Management

One UI 8 aims to improve the connected device UI including a cleaner Bluetooth settings screen. Users will be able to view battery levels of connected third party Bluetooth headsets directly within the settings a feature previously unavailable in One UI 7.

Eligible Devices for the One UI 8 Beta

Samsung typically initiates its beta programs with flagship devices. The One UI 8 beta is expected to be available first for the Galaxy S25 series including:
